AFT TEAM OF THE YEAR!
Starting in the 2024 full season
The AFT – Team of The Year for each state(s) or region will win a free entry into all of their state’s tournaments the following year, for the species they won. The AFT – Team of The Year award will go to the team from each state(s) or region that has the highest point total at the end of the AFT season. This will be the team’s total points received from only fishing AFT tournaments with the same partner, in the same state(s) or region, as a team and no combination of points from different partners, teams, state(s) or regions. You can fish with different partners, at different tournaments but none of those points can be earned towards team of the year standings with other partners. It would count as a different team fishing an individual event.
After each AFT tournament, the team that wins will earn 2000 points towards their Team of The Year point total, for the species they won. The second-place team shall receive 1999 points, for the species they won, third place 1998, for the species they won and so on. The team at the end of the AFT season with the highest point total in every state(s) or region will be the Team of The Year and receive free entries into all the tournaments in their state(s) or region the following year, for the species they won. The team in second place will receive free entries into half* of their state(s) or regions tournaments the following year, for the species they won. The third-place team will receive a free entry into two tournament the following year, for the species they won.

* States with an odd number of tournaments will round down.
